ACORN NOTEBOOK INSURANCE

  What is Covered?

Acorn Notebook Insurance insures notebooks against theft, accidental damage, fire and flood with no excess.

The insured is covered anywhere in the world including whilst travelling.

Your notebook is also insured whilst unattended in a car providing it is in a locked boot.

Theft from home or business premises is covered even where no forcible entry has occurred.

Accidental damage can include spillage, cracked screens, drops and even units being accidentally trodden on or driven over!

In the case of an individual policy, immediate family members are insured to use the equipment.

In the case of a business all staff members are covered for use.

Educational establishments can be confident that all pupils, parents of pupils, teachers and staff members are insured.

  What is not Covered?

Acorn Notebook Insurance does not cover thefts from unattended cars where the item is not in a locked car boot or glove compartment.

Where equipment has been left unattended in the open or mislaid the claim will not be covered.

Electrical and mechanical breakdown, maintenance, wear and tear, fraud and dishonesty, deliberate loss and wilful damage are not covered.

Once you have made a claim there is no automatic reinstatement; you will have to pay a reinstatement fee if you wish your cover to continue.**

There is no cover for loss of data, bespoke software or other consequential losses.

*Intended as an overview. Full policy terms and conditions are the final arbiter.

**The reinstatement fee is a proportion of your premium. This is derived by dividing your premium by 12 (months) and multiplying the total by the number of months left on your policy. If your policy is a three-year policy you will only have to pay reinstatement costs for the policy year in which the incident occurs.
